Justin Baldoni‘s lawyer has responded to Ryan Reynolds and Blake Lively‘s appearance at SNL’s 50th anniversary special. Amid the very public feud and lawsuit battle between It Ends with Us stars Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni, the Gossip Girl star appeared on SNL 50 with the Deadpool star. The couple also briefly participated in a comedy segment during the show. While some fans praised the couple’s showmanship, Baldoni’s lawyer had different views to share.
What did Justin Baldoni’s lawyer say about Ryan Reynolds’ joke?
Justin Baldoni‘s lawyer, Bryan Freedman, was “shocked” to see the comedy segment of SNL 50 that included Ryan Reynolds. Freedman told the radio host Bill Bush, “I’m unaware of anybody, frankly, whose wife has been sexually harassed and has made jokes about that type of situation. I can’t think of anyone who’s done anything like that. So it surprised me.”
Ryan Reynolds and Blake Lively were a part of the celebrity audience at SNL’s 50th anniversary special episode. During the show, SNL alums Tina Fey and Amy Poehler came on stage and exchanged pleasantries with Reynolds. Reynolds stood up during the segment to ask something, and the duo said, “Ryan Reynolds! How’s it going?”
The Spirited star pretended to be confused and alerted at the question and quickly replied, “Great! Why, what have you heard?” Poehler and Fey went with the flow of the comedic bit and assured that they had only heard “cool” and “great stuff” about the Hollywood heartthrob.
Meanwhile, Justin Baldoni’s lawyer shared that Baldoni is currently in Hawaii with his wife, Emily. Freedman said Baldoni’s current stay in Hawaii with his wife and kids isn’t actually a “vacation.”
The lawyer noted, “I don’t think anybody who has been accused of heinous, arguably what are crimes, is on vacation. I think that he is trying to gather with his family and get some semblance of peace.”
Additionally, the lawsuit saga of Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni continues to divide public opinion. The All I See You actress has recently submitted an amended version of her complaint against Justin Baldoni. Her lawyers, Esra Hudson and Mike Gottlieb, reportedly claimed this version “provides significant additional evidence and corroboration of her original claims.”
