The Milwaukee Bucks forward proposed to the supermodel over Valentine’s Day weekend in Turks and Caicos, the location of their first vacation together. Kuzma, 29, presented Harlow, 30, with an 8.5-carat oval-cut engagement ring featuring two baguette stones. The couple, who have been together for nearly five years, announced their engagement in a joint Instagram post.
Kuzma planned the proposal for six months, but the idea originated in 2022 when they first visited the Caribbean island. During that trip, Harlow had called it “the best day of her entire life,” which led Kuzma to choose it as the setting for their engagement (via Vogue). To execute the surprise, he chartered a private plane and decorated the cabin with roses, balloons, chocolates, and champagne. Harlow initially believed the setup was for Valentine’s Day, saying, “I still had no idea what this was.”
During the flight, Kuzma invited Harlow to sit beside him and read her a poem he had written. She realized it was a proposal when he reached the final line: “Will you be my wife?” She said yes before he could even reveal the engagement ring, which he spent three months designing. “I never really asked her what type of ring she liked,” Kuzma said. “I just wanted to draw a picture of what I felt resembled her—something that was elegant, but very timeless and simplistic at the same time.”
After landing, Harlow called her family. Her sister didn’t pick up the call, while her mother said she had no time to talk. At the villa, she found both her and Kuzma’s families waiting to surprise her. Kuzma led her to the backyard, where a DJ played “Let’s Get Married” by Jagged Edge and a beachside dinner awaited. Harlow changed into a Blumarine dress, while Kuzma wore Loro Piana.
They enjoyed a surf-and-turf dinner and wine before Kuzma revealed one final surprise: a fireworks display. “We’re over the moon,” Harlow said.
