The relationship between Ric Lansing and Ava Jerome seems to be blossoming in General Hospital and actor Rick Hearst, who portrays the eccentric lawyer, is in favor of their romance. Following his recent return to town, Ric quickly comes into contact with Ava after Nina convinces the former to take Ms. Jerome as a client. Since then, the duo has shared excellent chemistry on screen, much to many fans’ surprise. With Ric and Ava already sharing several intimate moments on the long-running soap drama, Hearst has come out to share his thoughts on what the future could hold for the pair.
Hearst on how Ric and Ava’s relationship will continue on General Hospital
After taking on Ava as a client, Ric ends up realizing the similarities between the two social outcasts in General Hospital. On top of that, their shared contempt for Sonny has only gone on to strengthen their bond, even resulting in a kiss in a recent episode.
In the wake of these developments, Rick Hearst echoed fans’ sentiments by stating that anything is fair game between the pair. While talking to Soap Opera Digest, the actor said, “It’s that dangerous sort of element between the two of them where there’s not a lot of rules there, except, you know, ‘Don’t cross me.’ Everything else is pretty much fair game with both of them!”
Hearst then explained how it is extremely easy for Ric to get closer to Ava in General Hospital, as she understands his approach of carrying himself as he prefers rather than being a people-pleaser. Labeling it as a “turn-on” for his character, Hearst explained, “That is something that I think is very enticing to explore with her.”
The 60-year-old actor finally teased Ric and Ava’s potential relationship, noting, “It’s not about having to change who and what you are. There are chapters written on him already, and she’s not only read the book, she could contribute to the forward of it! So, the ability to take a step forward with somebody like that — I think there are just a lot of possibilities there.”
Despite Fans’ affection towards Ric and Ava’s connection, only future General Hospital episodes will tell if their relationship has what it takes to last.
