DeVon Franklin and Maria Castillo officially shared their engagement news on February 13, 2025, in an exclusive with People Magazine. However, the romantic proposal took place earlier on December 27, 2024, during their tropical getaway to Maui, Hawaii.
The couple had been enjoying a scenic beachside photoshoot outside the Ritz-Carlton Maui, Kapalua, dressed in elegant, color-coordinated outfits. While Maria Castillo believed they were simply capturing memories, DeVon Franklin had a grand surprise in store. As they walked along the beach, he led her to a breathtaking cliffside location overlooking the ocean, where he dropped to one knee and asked her to marry him.
In the interview, Franklin opened up on the grand proposal while showering praises on Castillo. He stated, ”Finding Maria has been one of God’s greatest blessings in my life, so I wanted the proposal to be as special as our love. We went to Maui for vacation, I told her we were gonna do a photo shoot and during the photo shoot I surprised her with the proposal!
