In a recent interview, Black Panther star Michael B. Jordan mentioned his support for friend and former Marvel colleague Jonathan Majors. This follows Majors’ conviction in a 2023 domestic violence case. Majors’ conviction ended his time playing Kang the Conqueror for Marvel Studios and appeared to halt the actor’s rise in Hollywood. Almost two years later, Jordan has come out to praise Majors for maintaining his “strength” while he dealt with his off-screen problems.
Michael B. Jordan praises Jonathan Majors amid controversy
While talking to GQ, Michael B. Jordan congratulated Majors for his recent engagement with actress Meghan Good before commending the actor for his response to his conviction.
Referring to Majors’ trial and conviction as a “tough situation” to witness, Jordan stated, “But he’s doing great, just got engaged. I’m proud of his resilience and his strength through it all, and [his] handling [of] it. I’m glad he’s good. That’s my boy.”
In the GQ profile, Jordan also confirmed that he would be willing to partner up with Jonathan Majors on a future project. After being asked if he would work with Majors again, Jordan responded with an emphatic double “Yes.”
In December 2023, Majors was found guilty of reckless assault in the third degree and harassment via a split jury verdict. He then had to engage in a domestic violence treatment program. The ordeal prompted Marvel Studios to fire Majors from his role as Kang the Conqueror, ending a proposed arc that would have seen him become the main villain of a future Avengers movie.
As well as his positive comments about Majors in the GQ interview, Michael B. Jordan also recently promoted his longtime friend’s upcoming film, Magazine Dreams. Jordan shared the project’s trailer on his Instagram profile last week. Originally meant to make its debut at Sundance in 2023, the movie will now premiere on March 21 of this year.
