Jon Batiste and Suleika Jaouad first met as teenagers at a band camp. Further, the duo reconnected when the singer paid a visit to Jaouad in the hospital, who was undergoing treatment for leukemia. In her column for NYT, the author opened up on their meeting in the hospital.
