Why Fans Think Dan Orlovsky Is Leaving ESPN

Football analyst Dan Orlovsky‘s recent remarks suggest that he could be leaving ESPN. He is a former football player associated with various teams like Detroit Lions, Houston Texans, Indianapolis Colts, and Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Before retiring his jersey in 2017, he played last time for the Los Angeles Rams. He continued his passion for the sport by joining ESPN the following year as an analyst. However, his latest comments about taking some time off from the network recently have sent shockwaves among viewers. Here are all the details.

Is Dan Orlovsky leaving ESPN?

During ESPN’s First Take following the Super Bowl, Dan Orlovsky revealed that he was going to be taking a hiatus from TV. However, he hasn’t confirmed his departure from the network. Therefore, this news remains a mere speculation.

The rumors about his ESPN exit stemmed from his cryptic comments on Monday’s episode of First Take. He said, “You guys know this is the end of the season for me… I’m taking a break. Won’t be on TV for a long time. Just wanted to say thank you to you guys – Stephen A. [Smith], Molly [Qerim], Shannon [Sharpe] – for a great season. Love being with you guys and love y’all.”

He seemed unsure about his future at the network while simply disclosing that he was taking a hiatus from television. Moreover, he extended his gratitude to his colleagues and the audience. Additionally, his response to a fan on X (formerly Twitter) asking about his departure further fanned his exit rumors. Nonetheless, it remains unclear whether he is bidding adieu to the network.

A source tells Front Office Sports that ESPN is looking forward to extending his contract. This is because of the network’s admiration for his work ethic and significant contributions to their well-known programming, First Take and Get Up.

Nevertheless, rumors suggest that he is exploring options. He has also been talking to several teams to learn more about his interests and “aspires” to become a head coach, per Adam Schefter’s comments on The Pat McAfee Show. (via On3)
