The crossover fighting game, which features iconic Warner Bros. characters like Batman and Arya Stark, is officially coming to an end. MultiVersus Season 5 started on February 4, 2025, and will end on May 30 at 9 a.m. ET.
The online game was launched on May 28, 2024. Unfortunately, it is now approaching its end less than a year after its release. The development team announced on January 31, 2025, that the support for the game will end on May 30, 2025. Players who have already downloaded the game will still be able to play it offline, but after May 30, it will be removed from all digital platforms.

The dev team also expressed gratitude towards the MultiVersus community for their support throughout the beautiful journey.
Further, game director Tony Huynh also expressed gratitude towards everyone who supported the game. Additionally, Huynh apologized to the fans for not including many of their favorite characters due to lack of time.
Community manager Ajax also addressed the harsh response to the sudden shutdown of the game. He stated, ”I know things aren’t the best right now and everyone is looking for answers. Receiving threats of physical harm against him is not and will never be the way.”
While the team has not shared the reason behind the end, players speculated it as the failure of the game due to monetization strategy. The players found it challenging to purchase more fighters separately while the cosmetics prices skyrocketed.
