Just before she collapsed, Kayla and Steve had a heartwarming and intimate moment where she told him that he was the only man she wanted.
Before this, Kayla and Steve had returned home after Jada and Rafe‘s messy wedding. The two discussed how Stephanie had become upset about Jada’s situation. They also discussed the accusations Jada was facing.
Steve and Kayla later discussed the latter’s agreement to act on Abe’s show after she found an envelope and realized it was a script. Kayla initially expressed her worry about pretending to be in love with another man and possibly kissing him on Abe’s show. However, Kayla’s tensions were eased when she realized she did not need to. Steve joked that if someone kissed Kayla, he would get them killed.
