Kanye West Might Lose $20M Tokyo Concert Deal Following Grammy Controversy — Report

Kanye West’s recent appearance at the 2025 Grammy Awards alongside his wife, Bianca Censori, has sparked controversy. It could reportedly cost West a lucrative $20 million concert deal in Tokyo. The rapper’s bold red carpet stunt, which involved Censori revealing a sheer outfit, has reportedly alarmed investors and led to the potential cancellation of his scheduled performances at the Tokyo Dome in May.

According to Daily Mail‘s sources in Tokyo, Kanye West’s controversial Grammy appearance with his wife Bianca Censori has caused significant backlash in Japan. A source said, “Kanye is just f***ing up every opportunity that comes to him. The stunt was creepy beyond belief and has been greeted with horror in Japan.”

West, who has been living in Japan nearly full-time for the past year, now reportedly faces a major financial and professional setback. The alleged loss of the $20 million deal could be a significant blow to the hip hop icon, who has been trying to rebuild his career amid ongoing controversies.

“Japan is having a cultural awakening about women’s rights, and the #MeToo movement is really strong here,” the insider added. “What he did is being seen as an act of coercive control, which is utterly unacceptable. He has completely culturally misjudged Japan.”

At the 2025 Grammy Awards, Kanye West dressed in his usual all-black attire accessorized with sunglasses and a diamond chain. While Bianca Censori arrived in a black floor-length fur coat. However, during their walk, she dropped the coat to reveal a sheer minidress that left little to the imagination.

The couple’s appearance was widely criticized as inappropriate for the prestigious event, especially given the presence of a billboard urging charitable donations for the Los Angeles fires.
