What Happened to Ron Hall’s Eye Before Love Island: All Stars?

As Love Island: All Stars heats up, former contestant Ron Hall is making a dramatic return to the villa as a bombshell arrival. Hall, who originally appeared on the show in 2023, made history as Love Island’s first partially sighted contestant. With his reappearance, many are once again curious about how he lost sight in one eye. So, what happened to Hall’s eye before Love Island?

Here are all the details.

How did Love Island: All Stars’ Ron Hall become blind in one eye?

The former Love Island contestant Ron Hall lost sight in one eye as a child due to a football accident. At just eight years old, he went for a header and was accidentally kicked in the face. This resulted in permanent vision loss. The injury also left him with heterochromia: one blue eye and one green. Despite the setback, Hall maintains a positive attitude and remains grateful for his health. He said, “If anything, losing something like that makes you realize that. It’s not hindered me in any shape or form. It’s a good conversation starter, I must admit.” (via Cosmopolitan)

First appearing on the show in 2023, Hall gained attention for his complicated love triangle with Tanyel Revan and his eventual relationship with Lana Jenkins, which ended just three months after the season wrapped. He’s back for Love Island: All Stars, re-entering the villa as a bombshell.

Beyond the show, Hall has taken on a more significant role as an ambassador for the Royal National Institute of Blind People (RNIB). He’s passionate about raising awareness and providing support for those with sight loss. He said, “I’m genuinely ecstatic to be an ambassador for RNIB, who do exactly what is needed to raise awareness and provide support to people living with sight loss, and I’m proud to be able to help the charity on their mission.”
