Love Island: All Stars Season 2 showcases couples returning to the villa to resume their journey to find true love. As the new season keeps viewers hooked, there is one aspect that has left them confused — the absence of the Casa Amor twist in the couple’s love stories. So, why is the Casa Amor missing in Love Island: All-Stars?
Here is everything you need to know about the absence of the major twist in the dating reality show.
Here’s why Love Island: All Stars doesn’t have a Casa Amor this season
Love Island: All Stars doesn’t have a Casa Amor this season due to its shorter five-week duration.
As fans are aware, Casa Amor is a major twist that can turn things upside down for couples. It starts with a secret text that prompts either men or women to exit the main villa and visit the Casa Amor. While the other half of the pairs stay in the villa, new contestants, aka “Bombshells,” are introduced in the Casa Amor. The old contestants spend time with these Bombshells and return to the villa to make a decision. They can either pair up with the new contestant or choose to stick to their original partner.
This twist led to many complications in the previous seasons of Love Island. However, Love Island: All Stars chose to axe this concept, leaving fans confused.
Mike Spencer, the executive producer of the show, opened up on the absence of this concept in All Stars in January 2024. He told The Mirror that the Casa Amor is not suitable for a “five-week run.” Spencer expressed that couples need enough time to know each other to choose a different partner in the future.
He also mentioned, “These islanders have done it all before so we have to be one step ahead of them. This gives us the chance to shake it up and bring new islanders into the mix in new ways.” Spencer added that the twist is good for an “eight-week run” and here things will be “more intense and people will fall for each other quicker.”
Love Island: All Stars can be streamed anytime on Peacock in the U.S.
