Anna Kournikova Appears in Public After Two Years Using Wheelchair

Former tennis superstar Anna Kournikova finally made her first public appearance in two years after she was spotted roaming the streets of Miami with her family in a wheelchair. After two long years, fans finally got to witness Anna Kournikova in person, albeit in a wheelchair. The 43-year-old sportswoman-turned-model also donned an orthopedic boot while visiting Bal Harbour Shops in Miami, Florida. While Kournikova’s injury seems to be a serious one, the origins of her ailment remain unknown at the time of writing.

Anna Kournikova, who shares three kids with her longtime beau, Enrique Iglesias, was with her two daughters, a few friends, as well as an unknown woman who pushed her wheelchair. The New York Post managed to snap pictures of Kournikova, who was sporting a black hoodie and matching sweatpants, in the parking lot of the Miami shops she visited.

While her appearance in a wheelchair may be concerning for many, Anna Kournikova seems to have always struggled with injuries, even after embracing retirement. After making her debut in the WTA Tour at the tender age of 14, Kournikova became a worldwide sensation in the tennis world due to her potential. The early bloomer achieved great success in the doubles category, securing two Australian Open titles while partnering with the legendary Martina Hingis. The accolades also led Kournikova to acquire the World No. 1 ranking in doubles for a brief period.

Nevertheless, consistent fitness issues forced Kournikova to hang up her racket at the age of 21. She has since been leading a relatively private life alongside her partner, Enrique Iglesias. The duo have been together since 2001 and have welcomed three kids, namely Mary and twins Lucy and Nicholas, so far.
