No, Jim Acosta Is Not Fired From CNN

Rumors have been circulating that Jim Acosta has been fired from CNN, leaving many viewers wondering about his future at the network. According to multiple outlets, Acosta’s programming has been reshuffled and his show moved off the schedule. However, he was not fired. Now, many viewers are wondering what happened.

Curious about whether Jim Acosta was fired from CNN? Here is more about it.

Is Jim Acosta fired from CNN?

Jim Acosta, CNN’s chief domestic correspondent, is reportedly leaving the network but he was not fired. He seems to be leaving on his own accord.

This comes after his 10 a.m. show was pulled from the programming lineup. The change is part of a broader reshuffling at CNN. The Situation Room with Wolf Blitzer and Pamela Brown will now occupy the slot previously held by Acosta’s program.

According to FOX News sources, Acosta was offered a new timeslot. However, the proposed move to a midnight program was not well received. As per an insider, “Many viewers like Jim… if there is anyone who could make the overnight go it’s him. It’s sad to see him go.”

Acosta, who joined CNN in 2007, became widely known for his confrontational relationship with the Trump administration, especially as the network’s chief White House correspondent. He was often at the center of heated exchanges with Donald Trump, gaining national attention for his outspoken questions. His showdown in 2018, where he refused to give up the microphone during a press briefing, led to the White House trying to revoke his press pass. However, CNN successfully argued that it violated both the First and Fifth Amendments. This incident earned him both admiration and criticism.

Following the 2020 election, Acosta moved to a role as chief domestic correspondent. However, with CNN’s leadership now aiming for a more neutral stance in its political coverage, the network has made changes that appear to have led to Acosta’s exit. Though no official announcement has been made, reports suggest that he may soon be leaving the network.
