Flight Risk recently arrived in theaters, sparking curiosity among fans about when the film could come out on streaming platforms. This film is Mel Gibson’s latest directorial venture, having arrived about nine years after his last directorial venture, Hacksaw Ridge. Flight Risk’s streaming release date could arrive by June 2025.
This is because the film’s distributor, Lionsgate, has generally followed a pattern wherein they release their movies on OTT, roughly six months after its theatrical premiere. For instance, John Wick: Chapter 4, which hit theaters in March 2023, became available for streaming in September 2023.
However, the film could also come out earlier than stated above. Lionsgate in its new extended deal with Starz, whom they are expected to eventually separate from, put in a new term of agreement that not only allowed the streamer to continue having exclusive streaming Pay 1 window rights but also accelerated access to theatrical content.
Where is Flight Risk coming out?
Flight Risk is anticipated to first come out on Starz. It is also expected to eventually come out on Peacock as well.
The reason Flight Risk is first expected to arrive on Starz is because the platform currently has an extended deal with Lionsgate. This deal allows the streamer to access Lionsgate theatrical films as part of the Pay 1 window.
As for why Flight Risk would then come to Peacock, it is because the streamer and Lionsgate recently inked a Pay 2 window deal that would allow the former to access Lionsgate’s films after they first arrive on Starz.
