Additionally, Chris McCarthy, the co-CEO of Paramount Global and president/CEO of Showtime & MTV Entertainment Studios, commented on the renewal in a statement. He said, “The success of The Agency is proof that our new Showtime slate is poised to propel Paramount+ to its next phase of growth.”
Created by Jez and John-Henry Butterworth, The Agency is based on the French show, The Bureau. The story follows Brandon Cunningham, AKA Martian. He is a CIA operative who is called back to London Station. However, as soon as Martian returns, his past love re-appears in his life. He then grapples with his professional duties, his true identity, and the missions he is assigned.
