SZA and Keke Palmer‘s casual bickering about Drake‘s kissing skills had social media users in splits. The duo appeared on Hot Ones Versus along with Issa Rae. Keke Palmer and SZA came to promote their new 2025 comedy buddy film One of Them Days, which was released on January 17, 2025. Issa Rae produced the movie.
SZA reacts to Keke Palmer’s question about Drake
Keke Palmer had one opportunity to ask a controversial Drake question to SZA, and she took it without hesitation. The Primetime Emmy award-winning actor was playing Hot Ones Versus with SZA and Issa Rae. The rules were simple: they would ask each other “deeply personal questions.” The opponents could either answer the questions or take a bite of hot wings.
While playing the game, SZA seemed to play it “safe” as she took a bite instead of answering most questions from the first round. But Palmer did not let her off the hook so easily. After taking a wild card, which gave her a chance to ask opponents any random question, Palmer shot directly at SZA. She asked if Drake was a good kisser.
The “Good Days” crooner dodged the question and replied instantly, “That’s why I said f*** you in advance.” But Palmer roasted her some more, nudging her, “He must have been terrible.” SZA remained silent but looked shocked at Palmer’s implication, eventually saying, “We were children.”
Rae and Palmer were not ready to let the opportunity go so soon. Palmer declared that the question was “rather easy,” to which Rae added, “And the fact that you don’t want to say one is very telling.”
SZA and Palmer’s chaotic chat about Drake has intrigued social media users. As many commented, the former could have had a perfect reply. She could have simply asked Palmer if Usher is a good kisser. However, Palmer and Usher have never admitted to dating despite rumors suggesting the two might have been together before or after collaborating on the music video of “Boyfriend.”
Meanwhile, SZA and Drake briefly dated in 2009. Later, SZA opened up about the romance to Rolling Stone. “We were really young,” she said. “It wasn’t hot and heavy or anything. It was like youth vibes. It was so childish.”
