Monster-in-Law is piquing interest among fans after almost two decades of its release. The movie chronicles the rollercoaster journey of Charlotte, who finally finds her true love, Kevin, after a series of disastrous dates. However, Kevin’s mother Viola ends up becoming a roadblock in their union.
Recently, speculation of part 2 became strong as a seemingly new poster of the sequel started doing the rounds on social media, with many questioning its authenticity. So, is the Monster-in-Law 2 poster real or fake?
Here is everything you need to know about the potential sequel of the Jennifer Lopez romcom.
Is the Monster-in-Law 2 movie poster real or fake?
The Monster-in-Law 2 movie poster is fake and fan-made.
The fan-made poster, which was probably created using Artificial Intelligence, featured Jennifer Lopez and Jane Fonda, who played the roles of Charlotte and Violet, respectively. It showcases the two ladies dressed in white attires with Lopez seated on a chair in a confident position while Fonda is standing behind her. The poster also included an unknown release date in 2025.
It was first shared on a website called Movie8D, which also shared the expected plot and box office prediction of the film. Further, a fan page named Alicas Sports reposted it on Facebook, increasing curiosity among the fans.
However, the poster was just a fan creation and had no authenticity to it. The Facebook page has shared numerous fan-made posters like Inglorious Basterds 2, Mea Cupa 2, and The Big Short sequel. Viewers must verify the authenticity of any online content before jumping to conclusions.
Will Jennifer Lopez and Jane Fonda appear in Monster-in-Law 2?
As of writing, Monster-in-Law 2 is not confirmed.
In 2014, Deadline reported that a TV show based on the original film following the events after Charlie and Kevin’s wedding was in the works. Since then, there has been no update on the project.
Additionally, Wanda Skyes, who played Viola’s assistant, expressed her wish to be part of the sequel in an interview with Gay Times. She stated, ”Jane (Fonda) and I keep talking about that. Last time I talked to her, she said she had an idea. So, we’ll see. I’d love to do it!”
