Recent rumors circulating online seem to suggest that The View has fired its noted co-host and moderator, Whoopi Goldberg. She joined the popular talk show in 2007, contributing to serious discussions and presenting fresh perspectives on a variety of themes. But was she fired from the show?
Here are all the details.
Did Whoopi Goldberg get fired from The View?
The ongoing rumors are false. The View hasn’t fired Goldberg.
Goldberg’s layoff rumors grew as some users on X (formerly Twitter) expressed that they’d want her to get fired due to her opinions on politics and current affairs. Since these rumors have originated from unreliable sources, they cannot be considered true.
Moreover, Goldberg has already made an appearance recently on the chat show, which debunks the false rumors on the internet. On Thursday, Goldberg pretended to sleep on the table amidst a discussion about The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City (via Entertainment Weekly).
The panel was invested in discussing the Bravo reality show’s recent episode, wherein the cast was reading some text messages. While some hosts shared their thoughts on the messages, Goldberg seemed confused. As she appeared to be disinterested in the conversation, she employed a comedic act of silent protest.
Maintaining her silent demeanor to get a break from the conversation, she subtly waved her hand to the cameras, asking them to put on a commercial. At the time, Joy Behar observed her movements and said, “Whoopi’s trying to get out of here.”
That said, as she has been a prominent moderator of the show, it doesn’t seem that she would be going anywhere. If there were any updates regarding her departure, then the network or the show would have confirmed it.
