Silo Season 2 drew a close after the final episode began streaming on Apple TV+ on January 17. It not only wraps up several important plot threads but also sets up the third season, which was officially announced in December 2024. One of the important developments that happen in the finale involves Camille Sims, her husband Robert, and their interaction with the mysterious Algorithm. Here is everything you need to know about it.
Here’s why the Algorithm picked Camille over Robert Sims in Silo Season 2 finale
In the Silo Season 2 finale, the Algorithm tells Robert to exit the vault with his son. When he does, it leaves Camille alone with the Algorithm. This is where the episode ends, leaving Season 3 to potentially depict what happens afterward. However, those familiar with Hugh Howey’s books, which inspired the series, would know exactly what transpires in the vault after Robert and his son leave. The Algorithm (spoilers ahead) picks Camille as the new IT head, following Bernard’s demise.
Notably, the finale doesn’t show Bernard’s body particularly as well, though given the circumstances and what is in the books, his fate is pretty much sealed in the show. Camille and Robert’s above-mentioned interaction with the Algorithm also hints at the fact Bernard has passed away. It will be interesting to see the impact these changes have on the dynamic between Camille and her husband. Robert desperately wanted to be the next IT head after Bernard, and losing that opportunity to his wife, of all people, is bound to influence his actions going forward.
Ultimately, the Algorithm appears to have chosen Camille over Robert due to certain inherent qualities that the former seems to possess. Unfortunately for Robert, he has proven time and again that while he is good at his current work as an executioner, the brain of the operation has to be someone else. Camille showed in Episode 9 that she is ambitious and ruthless and understands people far better than her husband. Additionally, her selection is unlikely to trigger the Safeguard protocol. However, as things stand now, Camille has a tricky road ahead of her due to Juliette and her influence over people.
