When Is DC’s Arrow Expected to Be Leaving Netflix & Why?

Viewers are interested in learning when DC’s Arrow will be leaving Netflix and why it’s happening. The superhero series is based on a DC character, Oliver Green, who ends up stranded on a mysterious island. Upon his arrival at home, he decides to be a vigilante called Arrow, fighting crime and corruption in the city. With all the seasons now available to watch on Netflix, many have grown curious to know when the show will be removed from the streaming giant. So, here are the details.

Is The CW’s Arrow leaving Netflix in 2025?

The CW’s Arrow could be leaving Netflix on December 18, 2025.

Some other shows reported to depart from Netflix around the same time are Supernatural and How I Met Your Mother. The next home of Arrow, which presently has eight seasons, would likely be Max after Netflix.

While Arrow has been given an early date of exit from the streaming service, some other Arrowverse series are expected to stay up until 2026-2028. Next year, Supergirl and Black Lightning will be leaving the service in the year’s second half in the U.S.

Why could Arrow be leaving Netflix?

Arrow could be leaving due to the Netflix and The CW licensing terms coming to a close.

The streaming giant and The CW’s deal dates back to 2011. The deal involved The CW adding its shows to Netflix’s roster shortly after their season finales premiered. Once the deal came to an end, 2016 saw its renewal. However, in 2019, they decided to not proceed with their usual agreement. The reason why many shows still exist on Netflix is due to its policy of keeping the shows strictly for five years after their premiere.

For instance, the Arrow Season 8’s finale premiered in January 2020. As a result, its five-year deal is set to expire this year, speaking speculations that the series may leave the service in December.
