AI-Generated Pics of Brad Pitt Scammed French Woman Out of $850K

AI-generated pictures of Brad Pitt had been used by a scammer for months to dupe a French woman into believing they were in a relationship, resulting in said woman being scammed out of $850K. The story has since garnered widespread attention. Accordingly, fans have become curious about all the details surrounding the bizarre story.

Brad Pitt’s AI-Generated images misled French woman

Anne, the 53-year-old French interior designer who was duped into transferring $850,000 into a scammer’s bank account after he pretended to be Brad Pitt via several AI-generated images he sent to her, shared her story in an appearance on the Seven to Eight program on TF1.

In the interview, Anne mentioned that the whole problem started after she began using Instagram for the first time during a ski trip with her family. She added that she was contacted by a scammer claiming to be Pitt’s mother, Jane Etta Pitt. “She told me that her son needed someone like me,” Anne added. (via France 24)

Several days following this, Anne was then messaged by the scammer, now posing as Pitt. Anne expressed how she had initially believed it was fake. However, she admitted that she could not understand what was happening to her as she wasn’t well-versed in social media.

For the next one and a half years, Anne was then duped by the scammer into believing she and Pitt had a relationship. The culprit sent her poems and love declarations. She then ended up divorcing her husband. Her daughter tried warning her she was being scammed, but she did not listen.

Later, the fake Brad Pitt concocted an elaborate scheme to con Anne into sending boatloads of money to them. The scammer pretended to be hospitalized due to kidney cancer and in need of money for kidney treatment. They alleged that Pitt’s ex-wife, Angelina Jolie, had frozen his bank accounts. Anne had some doubts but was reassured by a fake doctor that “Brad Pitt” was “really suffering” from the disease. She then sent $850k to a Turkish bank account. (via The Independent)

Anne only realized she was being scammed after she saw a news report of the real Brad Pitt and his girlfriend Ines de Ramon in the summer of 2024. She was subsequently subjected to online bullying, resulting in TF1 taking down their interview with her.
