The rumors about Jones leaving The TODAY Show emerged when fans found her to be unexpectedly missing from last week and this week’s Monday morning segment. Due to the numerous anchor changes that are currently occurring on the network, many were concerned about her future on the show.

Moreover, last Friday served as an important day for one of the co-hosts, Hoda Kutb, who officially bid adieu to the show. However, Jones, not appearing to say goodbye to her colleague seemed to bother many. Fans took to social media to express their concerns about Jones’ recurring absence.

But the issue was addressed on Kotb’s final day by TODAY’s weathercaster Al Roker. During the segment, he indicated that she was on leave by mentioning simply that the newscaster “is off.” Nonetheless, the popular anchor has yet to give a word on her most recent absence from the show (via Austin American-Statesman).

Rumors about her departure have sprung up before when she did not feature on the show in November last year. At the time, she was replaced by Savannah Sellers. As of now, Jones doesn’t appear to have exited the show, given their website still names her as “a co-host of NBC News’ 3rd hour of TODAY and a mid-week correspondent for TODAY.”
