Khabib Nurmagomedov Removed From Frontier Airlines Following Dispute

Curious about what led to Khabib Nurmagomedov’s removal from a Frontier Airlines flight? The retired UFC champion found himself at the center of a tense situation during boarding, sparking widespread speculation and debate. With footage circulating online and unanswered questions lingering, the incident has left many seeking clarity.

Let’s explore what unfolded on that flight, the critical moments captured on video, and the unresolved questions surrounding this high-profile incident.

What happened to Khabib Nurmagomedov on the Frontier Airlines flight

Frontier Airlines staff removed former UFC lightweight champion Khabib Nurmagomedov from a flight at Harry Reid International Airport in Las Vegas after a dispute over his seating in the exit row.

The flight attendant questioned Nurmagomedov’s ability to assist in an emergency, which is a requirement for passengers in exit-row seats. Although Nurmagomedov confirmed his understanding of the responsibilities and agreed to comply, the staff insisted he vacate the seat.

Nurmagomedov addressed the incident on X (formerly Twitter), saying the flight attendant acted “very rude from the beginning” despite his passing the airline’s English language check during the boarding process. He reported that after a brief exchange, the crew called security, who escorted him off the plane. In a video of the dispute, a flight attendant tells Nurmagomedov to either change seats or leave the aircraft.

A fellow passenger recorded the dispute and shared the video widely online. In the footage, Nurmagomedov questions the flight attendant’s decision, saying, “When I was in check-in, they asked me, do I know English… and I say yes. Then why you guys do this?” The flight attendant’s manager offers him a different seat or the option to take another flight, but he declines. After two minutes of discussion, the airline staff called security and escorted Nurmagomedov off the plane.

Nurmagomedov later explained that he boarded a different airline after a 90-minute delay and completed his trip. He was traveling to California to corner his teammates at the upcoming UFC 311 pay-per-view in Los Angeles. Frontier Airlines has not yet issued an official statement about the incident.

Nurmagomedov ended his MMA career in 2020 with a perfect 29-0 record. His dominant performances and undefeated status saw him get inducted into the Hall of Fame.
