Rodrigo Bentancur sustained a head injury in Tottenham’s recent match against Liverpool, which the home side won by 1-0.
The episode occurred around the 15th-minute mark of the said clash. During an early Spurs corner, Bentancur attempted a diving header in a bid to give his side the lead. However, the midfielder ended up missing the ball and instead landed head-first on the ground. Seeing that their player was unable to get back to his feet, Tottenham’s medical team rushed onto the field to assess the situation. After tending to him on the pitch for 10 minutes, the staff escorted a still Bentancur on a stretcher.
Following the match, Tottenham provided an update on Rodrigo Bentancur’s injury, stating that the player was conscious and talking. Head coach Ange Postecoglu also shared his two cents on the Urugayan’s state, noting, “There’s nothing too detailed [at this stage].
