Cynthia Erivo recently shared her interest in portraying the Marvel character Storm in a future X-Men film within the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU). The National Board of Review asked her to share a dream role she would like to manifest, and Erivo responded, “I really want to play Storm. I know it sounds frivolous, but I think we haven’t uncovered how grand she is and all of the inner turmoil that she has.”
Marvel Studios has been gradually introducing mutant characters into the MCU. These projects include the animated series X-Men ’97 and films like Deadpool 3 featuring Wolverine. Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige has not confirmed a standalone X-Men film.
However, he previously said mutants would play a significant role in the post-Avengers: Secret Wars phase. The film is expected to release in 2027. This timeline suggests casting for X-Men characters could become a priority in the coming years.
Fans actively speculate about Storm’s casting, with many suggesting Erivo for the role. The character of Storm, also known as Ororo Munroe, is a powerful mutant with the ability to control weather and has been a prominent member and leader of the X-Men in Marvel Comics.
