Pamela Anderson‘s life has never been short of startling incidents, but some leave a bigger impact than others. During a recent appearance on Josh Horowitz’s Happy Sad Confused podcast, the 57-year-old actress talked about a strange incident on an airplane.

Horowitz asked Pamela, “Have you ever been mistaken for another actor in your career?” To which she responded that a visibly angry man approached her once on a flight, asking her, “Do you know what this country’s done for you?”

Anderson said, “And I was like, ‘Oh, my God. What have I done?’ And then I looked back at him and he’d [growl at me]. This stewardess had to handcuff him to the chair because he was trying to attack me. It ended up, he thought I was a Dixie Chick.” Anderson further added, “Remember that whole Dixie Chick thing? I almost got killed on a plane!” The incident led to her being scared to get on an airplane for a while.

For the uninitiated, the Dixie Chicks (later known as The Chicks) received immense backlash for a member’s comment regarding a former US President. At a 2003 London concert, Natalie Maines slammed George W. Bush for the invasion of Iraq, leading to the controversy.

Meanwhile, Anderson’s recent performance at The Last Showgirl has recieved impressive reviews. She snagged a nomination at Golden Globe Awards in the Best Actress in a Motion Picture – Drama category. She also won multiple accolades, including Woman of the Year at the 2024 Glamour Awards.
