Glaser then joked, “And Benny Blanco is here because of the genie who granted him that wish. Man, lucky guy.” Gomez and Blanco were then shown smiling awkwardly. The latter then kissed the former’s shoulder.
The 40-year-old comedian then praised Gomez’s performance in Emilia Perez. “Emilia Perez earned ten nominations for Netflix, and I loved it,” Glaser said. “I think it is without a doubt the most audacious, groundbreaking film to ever autoplay after Is It Cake,” she continued.
At the event, Gomez wore a light blue dress and a diamond necklace, while Blanco donned an all-white wool suit.
Gomez, who was nominated for Best Performance by an Actress in a Supporting Role in any Motion Picture for Emilia Perez and Best Performance by an Actress in a Television Series – Musical or Comedy for Only Murders in the Building, lost to her co-star from the former, Zoe Saldana and Hacks’ Jean Smart, respectively.
