A trailer for Gremlins 3 has taken the internet by storm, leaving fans questioning whether it is real. The much-anticipated third movie in the popular Gremlins franchise has been in limbo for over a decade. Many are speculating whether this new trailer signals good news for the revival of the Gremlins movie series.
Here’s everything we know about whether the Gremlins 3 trailer is real and if the movie is arriving soon.
Is the Gremlins 3 trailer real or fake?
Unfortunately, the viral Gremlins 3 trailer is fake.
The trailer that has sent fans of the beloved franchise into a frenzy is a fan-made video created by the YouTube channel KH Studio. It was uploaded on December 27, 2024, and the video’s description clearly states that it is not real and was made using AI. The creator wrote:
“Please note that this video is a concept trailer created solely for artistic and entertainment purposes. I have meticulously incorporated various effects, sound design, AI technologies, movie analytics, and other elements to bring my vision to life.”
Will Gremlins 3 come out in 2025?
As of now, there is no official confirmation that Gremlins 3 will release in 2025.
The much-anticipated third installment of the Gremlins series has been in discussion since 2013. However, there has been little progress or updates on its production. Rumors of a sequel gained momentum that year when Vulture reported that Warner Bros. was considering rebooting the franchise. Actor Zach Galligan further fueled speculation in November 2015.
In 2016, director Chris Columbus shared his thoughts on the project, revealing that he was working on a “twisted and dark” script. The most recent update came in November 2020, when Columbus stated that CGI would not be used in Gremlins 3, with practical effects continuing to champion the franchise’s unique charm. Since then, there have been no further updates about whether the film is moving forward.
At this point, it seems fans will have to wait even longer for the return of the Gremlins series.
