Missing You Ending Explained: What Happened to Josh & Kat?

Missing You just premiered on Netflix and fans are eager to learn what happened to Josh and Kat in the ending. They are also wondering if Josh left Kat. This new thriller drama comes from Harlan Coben and Victoria Asare-Archer.

At the end of the series, Kat finds a website supposedly connected to Josh. Stacey also finds an address linked to the site, a PO Box under Josh’s Facebook alias, Reggie Cross.

Kat arrives at the location and meets a little girl, asking for Josh. He sees and calls out to Kat.

Kat and Josh finally meet in person, 11 years after he left her. He reveals to Kat that the dating profile she found of him on the dating app did not belong to him. He also added that the Reggie Cross Facebook profile was created by his daughter. Kat then asks why he left, stressing that she knew Josh knew about her father’s corruption and ties to crime boss Calligan.

Later, Josh confesses he had been waiting for her for 11 years. An emotional Kat then rekindles their relationship.

Why did Josh leave Kat in Missing You?

Josh left Kat because he could not bear to see her grieving the death of her father, whom he had killed and felt guilty for doing.

Towards the end of the story, it is revealed that Kat’s late father Clint, a corrupt detective working for Calligan, was spotted in an intimate moment with his lover Parker, by her friend Aqua. Clint saw Aqua and panicked. Clint confronted Aqua at her home and demanded she not say anything to Kat or her mother. Aqua said she would not but demanded Clint himself to tell them the truth.

A violent scuffle then ensued between Clint and Aqua. Josh arrived at the scene and accidentally fatally stabbed Clint, trying to protect Aqua. Kat’s boss Ellis Stagger soon showed up, worried by Clint’s frantic phone call asking for Aqua’s address. Realizing what happened, Stagger chose not to convict Josh, and to protect Kat and her mother from the truth. Stagger instead let notorious criminal Monte Leburne, charged with multiple crimes, take the blame for Clint’s murder.
