Jenny Slate speaks up about Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni case
Jenny Slate has voiced her support for Blake Lively following allegations of misconduct against Justin Baldoni.
“As Blake Lively’s castmate and friend, I voice my support as she takes action against those reported to have planned and carried out an attack on her reputation,” Slate said in an exclusive statement to TODAY. Calling Lively a “loyal friend” and a “leader,” Slate condemned the alleged efforts to undermine her co-star, describing them as “disturbing and wholly threatening.” She added, “I commend my friend, I admire her bravery, and I stand by her side.”
Lively’s lawsuit accuses Baldoni of creating a toxic work environment and sexual harassment. The claims have sparked widespread attention, with many rallying behind Lively. The actress’ legal filing alleges Baldoni’s behavior on set prompted an intervention meeting attended by her husband, Ryan Reynolds.
The Gossip Girl star demanded measures to ensure her safety, including the presence of an intimacy coordinator. The lawsuit further alleges that Baldoni’s PR team initiated a campaign to spread damaging rumors about Lively.
The controversy has already impacted Baldoni, who was dropped by his talent agency and criticized by co-stars and collaborators. Brandon Sklenar, another cast member, and Colleen Hoover, the author of the book on which the film is based, publicly expressed their support for Lively.
However, Baldoni, through his lawyer, has reportedly denied the allegations.
