What happened to Josh Allen?

Josh Allen sustained an injury to his right hand in the Bills’ 24-21 victory against the Patriots.

The incident occurred in the fourth quarter of the game when Allen’s hand inadvertently clashed with the helmet of a defender. Consequently, he ended up losing sensation in the afflicted hand. In a post-match interview, Josh Allen explained the nature of his injury, stating, “Just hit the funny bone nerve and went to throw the ball and just had no feeling in the hand. It took a good five to 10 minutes, so just making sure, trying to get some blood flow back in there, some activation,” as per CBS Sports.

Despite the knock, the 28-year-old quarterback was able to finish the game. Moreover, Allen also recorded an impressive 154 passing yards and 30 rushing yards, alongside one touchdown to one interception.

Notably, Josh Allen had battled injury throughout the course of this season, having played a major bulk of the ongoing season with a broken left hand, as per Sports Illustrated. Still, the seasoned NFL star has registered 37 touchdowns with only six interceptions this term, making him one of the prime candidates for the NFL MVP award.

While Allen successfully completed the game against the Patriots, it currently remains unknown if the Bills will field him in their remaining two league games. Sean McDermott’s side are scheduled to face the New York Jets in their next NFL fixture.
