Rex Mason, aka Metamorpho, plays a superhero and archaeologist in the film. In the trailer, Metamorpho can seen as a bald man with faded skin and weird marks all over his face.
He first appeared in the DC comic titled The Brave and the Bold #57 in 1965. He is shown as a man curious about adventures who gets hired by a businessman named Simon Stagg. Simon sends him on a mission to get the Orb of Ra, an old Egyptian artifact. However, things took a different turn when one of Simon’s team members ended up betraying him. He ends up contacting the meteorite of the orb which transforms Rex into Metamorpho.
Rex finds it difficult to accept this sudden transformation but decides to work as a superhero. He joins numerous popular superhero teams like the Justice League.
