What Happens to Preacher in Virgin River Season 6?

Fans are eager to learn what happens to Colin Lawrence’s Preacher in Virgin River Season 6 and if he is sent to prison. Season 5’s conclusion left Preacher in a tough spot as the authorities connected him to the murder of Wes, the ex-husband of his ex-girlfriend and lover Paige, who was actually the one who killed him.

So, does Preacher go to jail? Check out what happens to him in Season 6 below.

Does Preacher go to jail in Virgin River Season 6?

Preacher manages to avoid jail time in Virgin River Season 6.

In Season 6, Preacher goes to trial for his connection to Wes’ murder. Although Preacher did not kill Wes, he helped Paige dispose of his body.

Things get murky when the prosecution, led by Jenkins, obtains evidence that could incriminate Preacher. Adding to the complications, Jack, Preacher’s best friend from his Marine days and colleague, is called to the stand to testify against him. Jack, however, attempted to help Preacher.

Ultimately, Preacher is only convicted of disposing of human remains. Instead of prison time, Preacher is only charged with a misdemeanor and sentenced to 200 hours of community service.

Despite the intense trial, Preacher found some semblance of comfort via his new romance with Kaia, a new resident of Virgin River. Kaia eventually admitted her feelings for Preacher and offered great moral support to him during his trial.

However, Paige, on the other hand, is stuck in a tight situation. The jury is divided on whether Wes’ death was accidental or if Paige intentionally killed him. What’s certain is that fans will not see her again in the series, according to showrunner Patrick Sean Smith in a TVInsider interview.

Moreover, in an Entertainment Weekly interview, Smith confirmed that Preacher’s trial was used to book-end his and Paige’s relationship storyline. “This was the last vestige and loose thread from their relationship,” he said.
