Neil Cavuto’s exit remarks and Fox News’ statement revealed

Neil Cavuto announced his departure at the end of his show on Thursday. Initially, he narrated the set of news stories including the Amazon Workers strike and government funding deal before announcing his exit officially. After the news segment, he declared that after working for years at the network, it was time for him to say goodbye.

However, he clarified that he’s “not leaving journalism.” The anchor further added, “I’m just leaving here.” The reason behind his sudden exit remains unclear. A source reportedly told USA Today that Cavuto’s contract ends this year and hinted at the news about pay cuts across the industry. The anchor was reportedly offered by the network to continue working with them, but he refused.

Addressing his time at Fox, Cavuto said, “I got to do what I love here — report the news, not shout the news, not blast the news.” He further shared that always wanted to “tell truth to power and fairness to all.” The reporter further expressed his gratitude to his viewers for supporting him while also comedically addressing the critics of his work.

Following his departure announcement, Fox released a statement, appreciating Cavulto for his contributions to the network for years and wishing him well for a bright future ahead. “Neil Cavuto’s illustrious career has been a master class in journalism and we’re extremely proud of his incredible 28-year run with Fox News Media.”

The statement further reads, “His programs have defined business news and set the standard for the entire industry. We wish him a heartfelt farewell and all the best on his next chapter” (via AP News).
