The new trailer for Zendaya’s Princess Mononoke movie from Studio Ghibli is fake and fan-made.

The fan-made trailer was created by a YouTube channel named KH Studio. It showcases the stunning Zendaya playing the titular character, wearing a hooded outfit with red marks on her face. Alongside her is the popular wolf spirit Moro, who supports the brave princess in all her adventures. The trailer also features some stunning visuals of the forest including the Night Walker and Kodama tree spirits.

Soon, the fan-made creation started going viral among the Studio Ghibli fan community. As of writing, it has over 40K views. A Facebook page called Action Movie Zone further sparked discussions on the fake trailer. However, it is just the brainchild of a fan, and KH Studio is known for creating fan-made trailers for numerous popular films. Earlier, the channel dropped fake trailers for Moana’s live-action remake, Marvel’s Mephisto, Harry Potter and the Cursed Child, and many others. Fans must wait for confirmation from the filmmakers or the actors to find out the authenticity of any online content.

Will Zendaya play Princess Mononoke in Studio Ghibli’s live-action movie?

As of now, there are no signs of Zendaya playing Princess Mononoke in Studio Ghibli’s live-action movie.

While the fan-made trailer left everyone curious, Zendaya doesn’t seem to have been approached to play Princess Mononoke. On the other hand, Studio Ghibli hasn’t announced or hinted at the project being in the works. The studio’s last release was in 2023 called The Boy and the Heron.

On the other hand, Zendaya will reportedly feature in Christopher Nolan’s next project at Universal.
