What Are Silo 18’s Tunnels Connected To? Juliette’s Silo 17?

Silo Season 2 finally explored the mystery of the tunnels after having been secretive about their existence and purpose for much of Season 1 and the early parts of the second installment. Accordingly, fans are wondering where Silo 18’s tunnels lead and are also curious about whether Juliette Nichols could use them to return home.

Here is everything we know about the show’s tunnel system.

Where do Silo 18’s tunnels lead to?

Silo 18’s tunnel system connects the underground city to the outside world and also other silos.

This is confirmed when Lukas Kyle, on the orders of IT department head Bernard Holland, repairs George Wilkins’ broken hard drive, which the latter collected and extracts information from. During this process, he discovers a map for Silo 18. This map confirms the tunnels connecting the underground city they inhabit and the external world. Bernard learned of the tunnels’ existence from Juliette.

However, Juliette, who saw the lowest depths of the Silo after it was shown to her by computer geek George Wilkins in Season 1, noticed a door and a huge boring machine above the water collected over it. This machine could fit multiple Silo citizens as it is large enough to do so. However, it would require a lot of fuel to function.

It is possible that this boring machine could be used when boring from one silo to another one. The Season 1 finale revealed that multiple silos were in close proximity to each other when seen from the outside world.

Could Juliette use Silo’s tunnels to return?

Juliette could likely use Silo’s tunnels to return home.

In Season 2, Juliette has overcome her aquaphobia and learned how to swim. As such, she could use her swimming ability to access the tunnel system at the bottom of Silo 17. If Silo 17 is connected to Silo 18 via the tunnel system, it would allow her to come back.

Alternatively, she could learn to use the boring machine she discovered. She could then use it to get back to Silo 18.

Silo is currently streaming on Apple TV Plus.
