The virus that killed Kasha shared a resemblance to Omnius Plague, a Thinking Machine disease from the Butlerian Jihad. Episode 5, titled “In Blood, Truth,” shows Racquella investigating Kasha’s brain to find out what killed her. While studying, she notices a virus in her brain that reminds her of the Ominous Plague during the Butlerian Jihad.

This disease was created by the robot Erasmus and the Tlulaxa Rekur Van to eradicate humanity. It was hard to cure it, given it was found in an individual’s liver. Notably, the current virus appeared to be an updated version of the disease, which triggers a part of the brain, igniting fear.

Nonetheless, this virus didn’t remain restricted to Kasha but had contagiously spread across Sisterhood, causing them nightmares. Kasha surprisingly died of this disease in Episode 1, titled ‘The Hidden Hand.’ During the premiere, it’s learned that she forged a close bond with Princess Ynez, whom the Sisterhood plans to place on the throne to gain control.
