Michael Jackson Unreleased Music Tracks Found In Abandoned Storage Unit

Michael Jackson‘s legacy continues to grow, with a recent discovery shedding new light on his creative genius. A collection of unreleased tracks has surfaced, offering a rare glimpse into his work from a lesser-known period.

Here’s what we know about this intriguing find and how it adds to the enduring story of the King of Pop.

Michael Jackson unreleased music tracks found

Gregg Musgrove discovered 12 unreleased Michael Jackson tracks in an abandoned storage unit in California.

Musgrove, a former California Highway Patrol officer turned treasure hunter, found the recordings, which date back to 1989 and 1991. The storage unit once belonged to producer Bryan Loren. It contained cassette and DAT tapes of unreleased tracks. These also included conversations and creative discussions between Jackson and Loren.

Musgrove provided details of the find to The Hollywood Reporter, including an inventory list. The tracks include titles like “Son of Thriller,” “Don’t Believe It,” and a rap duet with LL Cool J titled “Truth on Youth.”

While some tracks were rumored to exist or partially leaked, others were entirely unknown to fans. “I’m listening to this stuff, and I would get goosebumps because nobody’s ever heard this stuff before,” Musgrove said.

Despite the historical and cultural significance of the recordings, legal restrictions prevent their public release. The Michael Jackson Estate clarified that they do not own the physical tapes but retain the copyrights to the music and compositions. This ensures that any commercial use of the recordings would likely face legal challenges. As a result, the tracks remain in legal limbo.

Musgrove’s attorney securely stores the tapes in a protected facility. Musgrove plans to auction the collection to private collectors, estimating its value in the seven-figure range. This discovery highlights Jackson’s enduring influence on music and culture, offering fans a glimpse into his legendary artistry.

The discovery reveals Jackson’s unmatched creativity. However, the future of these tracks remains uncertain. They will likely end up in private collections, leaving fans to speculate on what more could be uncovered from the King of Pop’s career.
