What was in Solo’s vault in Silo Season 2 Episode 5?
The previous episode of Silo Season 2 showcased Solo as a lone survivor of the revolution in Silo 18. He has been isolated in the vault for years and was instructed by a man named Russell to avoid letting anyone enter the place.
However, Juliette tries to sneak into the vault, but Solo manages to stop her and even nearly kills her. Juliette then goes on to comfort him and in the end, he agrees to help her to return home safely.
While the series has yet to delve deep into the details of the vault, the original book contains the spoilers. In the book, it is shown how Solo, whose real name is Jimmy, could control all the technical equipment in the Solo.
He gained access to the radio, the pact, and the security cameras. Jimmy also tried to use the cameras to track his parents. However, his parents ended up getting killed by intruders as Jimmy refused to hand them over access to the technicalities.
Jimmy’s father strictly instructed him to never share the access code with anyone and not allow anyone inside the vault. The death of his parents impacted Jimmy’s health and he even misunderstood his father as the shadow of the IT head.
Jimmy’s trauma regarding his parents’ murder is one of the reasons why he is so protective of the vault. The graffiti on the wall and the dead bodies inside the vault were of insurgents who wanted to force Jimmy to step out.
