Grand Theft Auto (GTA) 6 is among the most eagerly awaited video games, with fans anxiously looking forward to its release date. Though the game’s preliminary work began in 2014, publisher Rockstar teased it in 2022, followed by an official announcement the next year that broke the internet. The upcoming version will make players relive the magic of a fictionalized place, Vice City. It’s been long since fans have wished for the publisher to give a specific release date for GTA 6. However, a recent report appears to have re-confirmed the release date window. Here are the details.
When does GTA 6’s release date come out?
As per the latest report, GTA 6 is scheduled to come out in fall 2025.
Earlier, Rockstar Games had a segment of Take-Two Interactive’s investor presentation, where it disclosed the GTA 6 release date. Although it didn’t mention a specified date, it was learned that the game will drop in the fall of 2025.
The previous update solidified even more when Jason Schreier released a Bloomberg report. He addressed the several delays GTA 6 faced earlier but gave a promising update. It now appears that the parent company has officially put the game back on the line, given the latest remarks. He said, “GTA 6 has already missed multiple deadlines, a common practice at Rockstar, but Take-Two says it’s now on track.” Now, it remains to be seen if the game drops on the given release window or not.
To date, GTA 6 faced multiple delays due to several factors involved. For instance, the Red Dead Redemption 2 missed its deadline thrice, which pushed the company’s workforce to release the title in 2018. Nonetheless, it received massive acclaim for boasting technical advancement, great visuals, and game features. Even at that time, there was no update on GTA 6. But, it seemed understandable as the studio put their all time and resources into bringing out this particular title.
Moreover, there were also reports indicating that several developers left the company, including Dan Houser and Lazlow Jones, which might have impacted the game’s development. Also, the company reportedly struggled with game leaks as well during its making, adding more troubles to the progress.
