TikTok has progressively introduced new features for its users to make the video-sharing platform more fun. Recently, users on the platform have become curious about adding GIFs to the TikTok comments section and many questions about it have popped up on forums online. GIFs have become a more expressive way of conveying feelings to others while chatting. Here is how users can use GIFs as a comment on TikTok videos.
Here’s how to post GIFs in TikTok comments section
To post GIFs in the TikTok comments section, users must:
- Update the TikTok app to the latest version.
- If this isn’t done automatically, users can visit the app page on the Google Play Store or Apple App Store to force the update.
- Go to write a comment and select the Emoji icon.
- If GIFs have been activated for your account, you’ll be able to add a GIF here.
If the GIF option doesn’t appear under the Emoji icon, then your account hasn’t yet been permitted GIF use. TikTok appears to be rolling it out across a small number of users in different regions.
GIFs are expected to slowly roll out to more users, as TikTok continues to test them ahead of a global rollout.
Unfortunately, there doesn’t appear to be a way to accelerate the process. Those who are eager to post GIFs will just have to wait until the feature is enabled for them.
On the bright side, it’s good to know that TikTok is working to expand the features of the comment section, allowing users to express themselves in more ways.
For now, if you spot a GIF in a TikTok post’s comment section, know that the user is part of a limited test group. Hopefully more users will be added sooner rather than later.
