Here is everything you need to know about the intriguing character in the Star Wars franchise.
Who is Rotta the Hutt in Star Wars’ The Mandalorian & Grogu movie?
Rotta the Hutt is the son of Jabba the Hut in the 2008 film Star Wars: The Clone Wars.
In the film, Rotta is a baby who is fondly called Stinky by the Jedi Ahsoka. He gets kidnapped by Count Dooku amidst the battle between the Republic and Separatists to take over the hyperspace lanes. The groups needs the Hutt clan’s favor as they have control over the lanes leading to the Outer Rims.
Dooku executes the evil plan of kidnapping young Rotta and he manages to receive help from Jabba’s evil uncle Ziro the Hutt, who has his personal goals in the clan. Dooku’s plan is to defame the Republic by framing them for Rotta’s abduction, thinking the Hutt clan would choose Separatists over the Republic after this.
However, Dooku’s plans are foiled due to the brave duo of Anakin and Ahsoka. The two manage to safely rescue Rotta with the help of Padme. They also manage to expose Dooku and Ziro’s dangerous plans for the Hutts in front of Jabba. As a result, Jabba agrees to help the Republic, allowing them to use their territory during the war.
Despite Rotta being shown as a baby, he plays a crucial role in the film. Following Star Wars: The Clone Wars, the character hasn’t appeared much except a cameo in the Clone Wars show. Thus, Jeremy Allen White’s addition as Rotta in Star Wars: The Mandalorian & Grogu has left fans excited. It will be interesting to see how the character comes to life in the fantasy adventure.
