Azealia Banks & Matty Healy Drama Heats Up with Cease & Desist Case

The clash between Azealia Banks and Matty Healy has taken a serious turn, moving beyond heated online exchanges to legal territory. The fiery exchange, which began as a social media spat, has escalated into a legal dispute, drawing widespread attention from fans. Now, many are curious about what happened between Banks and Healy.

Here is more about Azealia Banks’ legal action against Matty Healy after an online spat.

Azealia Banks has taken legal action against Matty Healy, frontman of The 1975, after he threatened to “slap” her in a now-deleted post on X (formerly Twitter). Banks shared a cease and desist letter from her attorney demanding that Healy stop making threats or defamatory remarks, issue a public apology, and pay $1 million in damages. The letter accused Healy of cyberbullying, slander, and business defamation. It also argued that Healy’s actions caused emotional distress and damaged Banks’ reputation. The letter further claimed his deleted posts serve as evidence of guilt.

The feud began when Banks commented on Charli XCX’s appearance, sharing a throwback music video and noting that Charli “used to be soooo pretty.” Healy, whose bandmate George Daniel is engaged to Charli, labeled Banks a “failure” and accused her of targeting successful women. The exchange quickly escalated, culminating in Healy’s slap threat, which drew immediate backlash online.

Following backlash, Healy apologized, calling his actions “insane” and blaming them on “manic episodes.” Banks fired back by mocking Healy’s appearance and hygiene, even recommending he invest in better dental care.

However, the legal notice focused on more than their public exchanges. It accused Healy of recklessness as a public figure, suggesting his words could incite violence against Banks. It also appears that Healy has deleted his account of X (formerly Twitter).
