What Did Ariana Grande Say About Her Weight-Loss Critics?

Ariana Grande has officially broke the silence on critics shaming her for weight-loss during her Wicked promotions. Reflecting on her previous experiences, she mentions that over the years she has been judged for her appearance, decisions, and the life she leads. However, she doesn’t feed into these comments now as she is too busy focusing on her personal and professional lives.

Here’s a detailed article on what Grande said about her Weight-Loss critics.

Ariana Grande responds to body shaming in an interview

Ariana Grande, alongside Wicked co-star Cynthia Erivo, shared her thoughts on body-shaming during an interview conducted by French content creator, Crazy Sally. She revealed that she had been a target of such body-shaming comments since the ages of 16 and 17. She had heard all sorts of mean comments that individuals used to make up about her body.

Gathering her emotions, she reflected on how hard it is to hear such comments and how it becomes impossible for a person to avoid it. She gave instances of several occasions where receiving body-shaming comments became inevitable. “It’s something that is uncomfortable no matter what scale you’re experiencing it on, even if you go to Thanksgiving dinner and someone’s granny says ‘Oh my god you look skinnier, what happened?’ or ‘you look heavier what happened?’,” she adds.

Additionally, she displayed objection to the way society has grown more at ease by making remarks on people’s appearances and lives. Considering herself “lucky,” she revealed how getting support from her close ones and not falling for society’s definition of beautiful has helped her get over these comments. She believes in her beauty and doesn’t let people’s comments put her down.

However, she acknowledges the difficulty of dealing with the body-shaming noises, given she has faced it since her teenage years. She reveals that she doesn’t entertain those comments any longer and is more focused on bettering her life. “I have work to do, I have a life to live, I have friends to love on. I have so much love. It’s not invited, so I don’t leave space for it anymore,” she elaborates.
