The trend appears to be a satirical take on the Hopecore aesthetic, which is a more traditional trend and meant to be aspirational and inspiring. In contrast, Hopelesscore comprises videos that display unfavorable circumstances and dire situations.
The first-ever Hopelesscore video mentioned above has accumulated over 74,000 views since it was posted. Several videos have done even better. A video that @hope.lesscore shared currently has over four million views, more than 800,000 likes, and above 3,000 comments. Meanwhile, @hopelessccore shared a video that has accumulated an astonishing six million views. It features Comedian and Podcaster Bert Kreischer discussing alcohol.
