Curious about what Camila Cabello said about Normani? Fans of the former Fifth Harmony members have long speculated about their bond, especially after reports of tension surfaced in the past. Now, Cabello has opened up in a recent Nylon interview, shedding light on the current state of their friendship and how they are reconnecting after years apart.
Here are all the details.
Camilla Cabello comments on her friendship with Normani
In a recent interview with Nylon, Cabello reflected on where her friendship with Normani currently stands. She explained how their bond is redeveloping like the older times after bumping into each other at the Paris Fashion Week, this year.
However, since their meeting this year, she has realized that she is not a co-worker or competitor to her but rather “a grown woman who was working hard to accomplish her own dreams.” She recalled the times when they used to laugh hard together. However, she acknowledged how giving each other’s space has given them a chance to reflect on their bond. “With space, we can go back and tap into that,” she adds.
Moreover, she reveals that after meeting her several times, she felt that their relationship was steadily restoring. Given, she utters something and Normani laughs just like the old times. She feels that they no longer are strangers but are rebuilding their friendship.
Previously, Cabello had continued to showcase her love and support for Normani, when the latter announced her studio album debut, Dopamine in June 2024. She took to Normani’s Instagram post comment section and wrote, “Putting out a project is vulnerable and hard and you are doing it beautifully. Congratulations on your first album and many more to come!!!!!!!” (via Teen Vogue)
Cabello, who was brought together by X Factor with other girls in Fifth Harmony in 2012, ultimately exited the group in 2016. The reason behind the departure was that the Havana singer felt “distanced” from the group’s vision. She didn’t feel “happy” in the group and that it didn’t “align” with her anymore, she left the girl band. (via Hola!)
