Superman & Lois Season 4 Finale’s Doomsday Twist Explained

Superman & Lois Season 4‘s final episode has premiered. The stakes were high as it resumed the final showdown between Superman and the mighty Doomsday. So, what happened to Doomsday and why did he sacrifice himself in the Superman & Lois Season 4 finale?

Here is everything you need to know about the last battle between the superhero and the supervillain.

Why did Doomsday sacrifice himself in Superman & Lois Season 4?

As seen in Episode 9, Lex Luthor, the creator of Doomsday, found the monster in the mines and caused an explosion. This leads to Doomsday healing, with his powers increasing as he grows more spikes on his face and body. He becomes similar to his comic version and decides to create havoc in Smallville. As a result, Superman returned to face off against him for one last time and protect the town.

The two engage in a fierce battle out of the town and Doomsday flies away after grabbing the superhero in his arms. Superman & Lois’ finale or Episode 10 resumes the showdown with fans looking forward to the outcome. The stakes were higher this time than the previous face-off between the duo ended up taking Superman’s life, forcing him to live on a human heart that won’t support him for a long time.

However, the battle goes well with Jonathan and Jordan flying Doomsday into Steel’s hammer. Further, Superman takes Doomsday to the sun to end his chapter but a shocking twist takes place. As the Man of the Steel is about to blow out the monster, he ends up recalling his life as Bizarro.

In the previous chapters, Bizarro was an ally and enemy of Superman at the same time. Doomsday now decides to sacrifice himself to end all the troubles and to also, potentially protect Superman, whose end looked inevitable during the battle. Further, he falls off after a light push from the superhero. He crashes into the sun, with his body burning to ashes. Doomsday’s shocking sacrifice to put an end to the terror in Smallville and save Superman serves as an emotional sendoff to the supervillain.
