Will Chris Evans return as Captain America in Brave New World?
Chris Evans is not confirmed to return as Steve Rogers/Captain America in Brave New World. However, there is a possibility that he may return to his iconic role in the MCU, presumably in Avengers: Secret Wars.
Evans has been in a string of box office failures like Red One and Lightyear, following his exit from the Captain America role. He has also faced critical disappointments via movies like Pain Hustlers and Ghosted. As such, a return to Marvel could heavily boost his career.
Evans had returned to the MCU earlier this year but not as Captain America. He reprised his other popular role of Johnny Storm/Human Torch from Fox’s Fantastic Four films in Deadpool & Wolverine. Unfortunately, Storm met his demise in the movie.
The actor did once address rumors surrounding a Captain America return in an interview with The View in 2023. Here, he admitted that he has not closed the door on a potential return. However, he said that he would only come back if the right story was told (via The Wrap).
Although Evans has left the Captain America role, he continues to remain involved in numerous other interesting projects. He currently has Ethan Coen’s Honey Don’t, Materialists, and Sacrifice lined up.
