Episode 9 featured Superman locking horns with the deadly Doomsday again. Lex Luthor, the creator of the supervillain, explodes the monster in the mines which ends up increasing his powers. Doomsday’s body evolves after healing and now he has more spikes around him. The monster now similar to its comic version unleashes his wrath on Smallville with Superman coming to the rescue again.
The two battle out of the town and the episode ends with Doomsday grabbing Superman and flying off. As such, fans have begun speculating about the end of Superman in the last episode. Viewers are aware, that Superman is not in his prime days anymore and suffered a brutal death in his previous battle with Doomsday. He lost his heart which was crushed by Lex Luthor. Further, he underwent surgery and received the heart of Sam Lane.
Despite the successful treatment, Clark is unable to heal like his earlier days. He is getting weaker with time with his powers fading away due to the human heart. On the other hand, Doomsday has grown powerful and Lex has donned his upgraded armor which can blast within Superman’s body. So, the series may come to an end with Clark sacrificing himself yet again while killing off Doomsday and Lex as well. Further, his sons Jordan and Jonathan could take on his legacy of becoming Earth’s savior.
